I’m currently having an issue installing. I can see the files in my user folder but the plugin is not showing up in Ableton. I’ve tried on the latest Beta and the normal release. My user folder is not in the default location if that makes a difference. Cheers
To further inspect this, could you send me a log package to support@ableset.app? You can create one by clicking on “Create Log Package” in AbleSet’s settings menu.
My hunch is that the plugin didn’t get installed into the correct folder that Live sees as the user library. By default, AbleSet should automatically suggest the folder that is currently set up as your user library in Live. If you like, you can check the Library tab in Live’s settings to ensure that the path configured there matches the path you install the AbleSet plugin to:
The path appears to be the same and I can see the files in the Remote Scripts, Ableset folder in the finder as well as the Ableton browser. I’m baffled.
Is there a chance it doesn’t like user libraries that aren’t in the default location? I remember having a problem with a Max4Live plugin a while ago that didn’t like custom locations.
I’ve just tested this and it seems like custom User Library locations work fine, but having folders with special characters can confuse Live.
You have one folder name in your User Library path (“Personal Samples/Sounds”) that contains a forward slash which macOS internally stores as a :. I’ve created a User Library folder in a path containing a forward slash as well and Live doesn’t recognize the AbleSet plugin in there.
The easiest fix would be to remove the forward slash from your folder name or replace it with a word like “and”, e.g. “Personal Samples and Sounds”.
I hope this helps and look forward to your feedback!
